Does Your Entertainment Program Reflect Your Brand Standards?
I meet F&B Directors and hotel managers who manage their own entertainment program. Often, the musicians and DJs who come on property do not understand the hotel or resort’s brand standards and expectations for professional behavior, leading to lots of frustration for management and a subpar guest experience.
When musicians and DJs are hired as part of the hotel/resort experience they are functioning aspart of the hotel’s staff. Accordingly, they need to understand the hotel’s dress code, professionalism standards, and have a hospitality-focused mindset towards service, always putting the guest experience first.
Unfortunately, some otherwise talented musicians and DJs may not have enough experience working at luxury hotels and resorts to understand these requirements.
Hotel management may not have time to discuss the brand standards with musicians and DJs before booking them, or hotel management may not be aware of the disconnect—often performers who are used to playing at other types of venues do not have any idea how the expectations at luxury hotels and resorts are different.
For example, at non-hotel venues, drinking alcohol may be acceptable. There may be no dress code. Foul language may be commonplace. And, some performers may believe themselves to be “stars” entitled to special treatment.
At MHW Live Music, we know that in order to provide an exceptional guest experience, and a stress-free management experience for the hotel team, we must interview all performers to make sure they understand the hotel’s brand standards and have a hospitality-focused mindset towards service.
MHW Live Music’s unwavering commitment is to make hotel managers’ jobs easier by ensuring all performers understand and follow the hotel’s standards for professional conduct and above-and-beyond service.
