Sometimes, luxury hotels and resorts struggle with entertainment vendors demanding strict cancellation policies, akin to what a touring artist’s manager would demand for a large-scale performance.
This arrangement is inherently adversarial with the hotel. The artist (or their manager) attempts to get the best possible fee and terms, and the hotel attempts to negotiate the flexibility that is required in the hospitality business.
Hotel managers need flexibility to change or cancel performances with a reasonable amount of notice given the variability of occupancy, buyouts, weather, and other considerations.
